Note of Designer
“Radium FG” is a new digitisation of the Art Nouveau hot-metal font “Radium” published in 1905 by the German typefoundry Ludwig & Mayer.
It became popular in the 1970s when Hubertus Carl “Hace” Frey reworked the bold weight of Radius under the new name “Charleston”. It was used chiefly as a display typeface on musical album covers.
Radium FG has, like the original “Radium”, both a regular and a bold weight. I added latin character sets for most Western and Eastern European languages. It is available as a free font under the SIL Open Font License with the reserved name “Radium”. For details see https://scripts.sil.org/OFL.
The font is free for both personal and commercial use, but you can make donations via the paypal link of the font on dafont.com.
