Outlaw Grizzly Hunter began with our fascination for Page No. 120, a historic American wood typeface from 1880. Rather than simply recreating the original, we took a more personal approach, carefully reworking its distinctive letterforms to give them a contemporary feel while staying true to the rugged spirit of the Old West. We wanted to preserve what made the original special without leaving it stuck in the past.
We spent countless hours refining individual glyphs, balancing proportions, adjusting spacing, and fine-tuning kerning pairs until everything felt just right. Every curve, serif, and small detail received our attention. The result is a Western font that brings a piece of typographic history into modern creative work, with its own distinctive personality. Released under the SIL Open Font License (OFL), it is free for both personal and commercial use.
